Lion Dance 2015

SEPANG, 25 February 2015 – According to traditional Chinese belief; the lion signifies courage, stability and superiority. The lion dance is performed to chase away ghosts and evil spirits, then bringing the good luck to everyone. Concorde Inn KLIA has celebrated the Chinese New Year with the performance of “Lion Dance” on 23.02.2015 at the Hotel. The dance was performing at Hotel Lobby, which attracted all our guests.

The traditional custom, “Cai qing” or “plucking the greens” in Chinese; is a ritual in which lion dancers overcome obstacles to get a bunch of green vegetables which comes with a red packet. The lion ‘eats’ the leaves and the red packet; then lying on the floor and “chewed” the leaves. The lull is broken as the lion explodes back into activity, spitting out the leaves. This is a symbolic act of blessing by the lion, with the spitting out of the leaves signifying that there will be an abundance of everything in the coming year.

The lions also performed at Hotel’s surrounding; administrative offices, hotel guest room, Melting Pot Café, Crossroads Lounge and Swimming Pool to bring good luck and fortune to the business.

Gong Xi Fa Cai and wish the health, wealth and happiness be with all of us in this cheer 2015!
